The classic Mahjong Connect, now in HTML5. Link two identical free tiles with a path that changes direction no more than twice.
Mahjong connect is a flat grid of tiles with no layers, and pairs are joined by an imaginary line. The line may run only through empty space and change direction no more than twice, so a pair standing close together sometimes still cannot be joined. The game is also known as shisen sho, and here it comes in its classic edition.
Mahjong Connect belongs to the Connect variant in the Mahjong world and joined the catalogue on December 15, 2020. The rules, levels and on-screen language are set by the game’s creator, and a short guide appears on its start screen.
How to play
- Find two identical tiles.
- Check that a line through empty space can join them with no more than two turns.
- Click both tiles and they vanish.
- Clear the whole grid, before time runs out if the game is timed.

Three tips for mahjong connect
- Take pairs along the outer edge first, a line goes around them easily.
- Matching tiles that touch are always a safe move.
- When stuck, look for lines that run around the whole board, outside the grid.
