About the game
The classic Minesweeper. Open cells, read how many mines each number says are nearby, and find every mine. Use flags to mark the cells you suspect hide a mine.
Minesweeper is the logic game many people remember from office computers. The board is full of closed cells, and some of them hide mines. Every number you open says how many mines lie in the eight cells around it, and from those numbers you can almost always work out where it is safe.
Minesweeper Classic belongs to the Puzzle mix variant in the Puzzles world and joined the catalogue on April 12, 2017. The rules, levels and on-screen language are set by the game’s creator, and a short guide appears on its start screen.

How to play
- Click any cell to open the first part of the board.
- A number says how many of its eight neighbours hide a mine.
- Flag the cells you are sure hold a mine.
- You win when you have opened every cell without a mine.

Three tips for Minesweeper
- A one beside a single closed cell means the mine is right there.
- When a number already has as many flags as its value, its other neighbours are safe.
- Work the edges and corners carefully, they have fewer neighbours and less information.
